OGRA/KISP announces hand held data collection for MDW
TORONTO December 12, 2007 KiSP Inc. is pleased to announce that it has signed on to become an Authorized Service Provider (ASP) to the Ontario Good Roads Association’s (OGRA’s) Municipal DataWorks (MDW) data repository. OGRA members will be able to subscribe to use KiSP’s leading edge technology, gariston™ municipal, to facilitate the automated collection and management of their infrastructure asset and inspection data.
KiSP’s hand held PDA-based technology reads the data structure of MDW via web services for any given asset and sets up the appropriate forms and fields. Data is collected, validated through gariston™ municipal, and then sent directly into MDW for inclusion in the master file of asset data, eliminating paper-based data collection and manual re-entry.
For municipalities using other solutions with MDW, the data is available immediately. gariston™ municipal makes data collection and importing seamless and improves availability to MDW modules such as Asset Valuation.
gariston municipal is a web-based asset tracking and management solution developed to address the specific challenges faced by municipalities as they capture and update a record of all the fixed assets they own and maintain.
About OGRA
The mandate of the Ontario Good Roads Association is to represent the infrastructure interests of municipalities through advocacy, consultation, training and the delivery of identified services. MDW, a membership service of the OGRA, is a web-based data storage repository in which municipalities enter data on the extent and condition of their roads and bridges.
